Any answers

Sometime back I and my best buddy Thomas were travelling to Chennai from Kerala. We were talking about usual topics like our family, about work, Chennai life, movies, old hostel \college days, chicks etc. We happened to talk about this

Me: Thoma how’s work.
Thom: Going great da. We have a very good team, organization culture and all. I’m into a good project since I joined here. Salary also good compared to most of the other firms. So everything is going superb and cool at my side. Hey if any of your friends looking to switch job do let me know.
Me: wow, that’s great. So good to hear that buddy
Thom: But I have to add this point also. Unless we switch our job there won’t be much difference in our salary structure. I have got lot of offers from my management to stay back. Let me see how is my appraisal this month, and then I will take a decision. Anyways I’m keeping my fingers crossed

After a while a co passenger befriended with us, who also happened to be a Software Engineer working with a Top multi national firm. His CTC was a bit low compared to ours (though not that bad to say).Without wasting any time Thomas asked him to send his CV to his ID and with in minutes he forwarded the same.
This incident made me a think a lot. Like what we want in our life. A good job? , fat pay check? , Part of a good team and low pressure at work? Part of an organization which offer a very good career growth?. What will help us to be satisfied. Will there be a saturation point? Don’t we have an end point for our needs? .I doesn’t have answer for any of these questions. Usually I’m not a person who thinks or care about all these stuffs. But at times when some one asks me about all these or when I have conversations like this, I really don’t have a convincing answer.
